Processing an Electrified Care claim

Bring your vehicle into Electrified Garage or Tesla Service Center for a diagnostic inspection. Send the repair estimate to claims@getamber.com.

We strive to respond within 24 hours with a decision on what’s covered and a repair approval.

Who is Amber?

Electrified Garage and Amber have teamed up to offer customized protection plans tailored specifically for the modern EV owner.

Amber is a licensed and regulated vehicle service contract provider; which means that they not only design, underwrite, and provide Electrified Care plans but also review and reimburse claims in-house.

How is Electrified Care different from a traditional extended warranty?

With three different coverage types and monthly payment options, Electrified Care is the most flexible way to protect yourself against unexpected repairs to your Tesla's battery and more.

As EV experts, we know that there isn't an engine or fuel inlet in your Tesla. You deserve focused, tailored coverage that wasn't designed in the ICE age.

We go beyond coverage - every Electrified Care plan comes with support from Amber Concierge, a team of ex-Tesla service advisors and technicians with over 20+ yrs of collective experience in EV service, and unique membership benefits like Uber / Lyft reimbursement while your car is in the shop.

How do you keep my information private?

What is Electrified Care?

Depending on the plan you select, Electrified Care covers the cost to repair your Tesla's high-voltage battery, drive unit(s) and 1,000s of additional components. In addition to covering parts and labor costs associated with the repair, Electrified Care also reimburses you for the costs of towing and substitute transportation.

How much is Electrified Care?

The price of your plan depends on the make, year, and model of your EV combined with the coverage length you choose. To receive a quote, please submit the form here or email us at care@electrifiedgarage.com.

Can I purchase Electrified Care if my manufacturer's warranty has expired?

Yes, you can purchase Electrified Care as long as your vehicle has an odometer reading less than 200,000 miles, and is 2016 or newer.

How does Electrified Care’s coverage compare to the manufacturer’s warranty?

Electrified Care is supplementary to the Tesla Warranties that came with the vehicle when it was first purchased. In simpler terms, Electrified Care coverage kicks in when your Tesla Warranties no longer cover your vehicle.

What does Electrified Care Cover?

Depending on the plan you select, Electrified Care covers the cost to repair your Tesla's high-voltage battery, drive unit(s) and 1,000s of additional components. In addition to covering parts and labor costs associated with the repair, AmberCare also reimburses you for the costs of towing and substitute transportation.

Do you have a waiting period?

Our standard waiting period is 30 days, but depending on the results of the over-the-air diagnostic inspection, we may choose to waive the waiting period

How much can Electrified Care save me in unexpected repair costs?

Depending on the coverage you select, Electrified Care plans can cover up to $30,000 in repair costs.

How much is the deductible?

The deductible for repair of the high-voltage traction battery and drive unit(s) is $250. For all other repairs the deductible is $100.

Do you cover commercial or rideshare vehicles?

Unfortunately, Electrified Care does not cover commercial vehicles or any vehicles used for rideshare purposes at this time. Please submit your information here, and we’ll let you know when we can offer coverage options for your EV.

Roadside Assistance
Does Electrified Care reimburse me for tows?

In the event of an Electrified Care-covered breakdown, we reimburse you for the costs associated with towing your EV to the nearest Electrified Garage or Tesla Service Center. The amount we reimburse depends on the plan you have selected.

Let us know if you need help in finding an a tow provider that support EVs, otherwise you are free to contact the tow company of your choosing. Be sure to save all receipts associated with the tow and share them with us during your claims process.

Does Electrified Care reimburse me for rentals or alternative transportation (e.g. Uber or Lyft)?

In the event of an Electrified Care-covered breakdown, we will reimburse you for the costs associated with a rental vehicle, rideshare, or public transportation while your car is in the shop.

Please be sure to save all receipts and share them with us during the claims process for reimbursement.

Can you recommend EV-friendly towing companies?

As EV owners, we understand that EVs require specific handling and tow equipment. You can find a list of towing providers with prior EV towing here.

Claims
How do I file a claim and assure approval?

Filing a claim with us takes three steps:
1. Diagnosis: In the event of a breakdown, take your vehicle to an Authorized Repair Facility and get a diagnostic inspection. Send the diagnostic inspection and repair estimate to us at claims@getamber.com.
2. Decision: In most cases, we get back to you within 24 hours with a decision on what's covered and approval to proceed with the repair.
3. Reimbursement: Once the repair is completed, email us the final invoice and we'll reimburse either the repair facility or you directly.

How will reimbursements for claims work?

For approved claims, we pay for the approved amount, less your deductible.By default, we will attempt to pay the repair facility so that we can minimize your out-of-pocket expenses but if we are not able to do so, we will reimburse you directly.

How long does it take to process a claim?

We understand time is of the essence when your EV requires mechanical attention. In most cases you’ll receive a decision within 24 hours after you submit your claim.
