What is Electrified Care?

Electrified Care is a first-of-its-kind service agreement that supplements and extends the great warranty coverage you get from the manufacturer when you buy your EV.

Electrified Care covers the costs of labor, parts, and even substitute transportation in the event of a covered repair. For example, if your EV's high-voltage battery no longer is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, Electrified Care will cover the costs of repair or replacement.

Who is Amber?

Amber is a rapidly-growing team of EV experts building modern solutions for EV diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.

In 47 states, they're a licensed and regulated vehicle service contract administrator; which means that they not only underwrite Electrified Care service agreements, but also review and reimburse claims in-house.

Their Concierge team is comprised of highly-experienced Tesla Service Advisors and Technicians. They know the ins and out of your EV, and provide remote diagnostics and support for owners across the US.

How does Electrified Care work?

In the event your vehicle has a covered breakdown or malfunction, you can take your EV to any Tesla Service Center or Authorized Repair Facility, and Amber will reimburse the service provider or you directly for covered costs, less your deductible.

Just like other popular subscription services, after you sign up for Electrified Care, your agreement auto-renews each month until you choose to cancel with us.

How does Electrified Care compare with the Tesla ESA?

Electrified Care service agreements provide flexibility through monthly payment options, can be renewed up to 250,000 miles, and covers more parts and benefits than the Tesla ESA.

Is Electrified Care available in my area?

Electrified Care is available to FL, NY, NJ, NH, PA, OH, MI, MN, RI & TN residents. We are rapidly expanding to additional states in the coming weeks, stay tuned. For more information, contact us at either a Electrified Garage location or email care@electrifiedgarage.com.

Is my EV eligible for Electrified Care?

Electrified Care is currently available for Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y vehicles that have under 200,000 miles.

COVERAGE
What does Electrified Care cover?

Depending on the plan you select, Electrified Care covers the cost to repair your Tesla's high-voltage battery, drive unit(s) and 1,000s of additional components.

In addition to covering parts and labor costs associated with the repair, Electrified Care also reimburses you for the costs of towing and substitute transportation.

How does Electrified Care compare with the manufacturer’s warranty?

Electrified Care supplements the manufacturer's limited warranties that came with the vehicle when it was first purchased. In more simple terms, Electrified Care coverage kicks in when your manufacturer's warranties no longer cover your vehicle.

How much does Electrified Care cost?

Electrified Care plans start at $60 per month and vary based on your EV's make, model, year, and current mileage. Check our prices here.

For monthly payment options, your rate will be the same for the period of one year from your start date.

How much is the deductible?

The deductible for covered repairs that include the high-voltage traction battery and drive unit(s) is $250. For all other covered repairs the deductible is $100.

Where can I take my EV for an Electrified Care covered repair?

In the event of a breakdown, you can take your EV to any Tesla Service Center, or any Electrified Garage repair facility.

Electrified Care members get exclusive discounts on labor for non-covered service completed at Electrified Garage locations.

Do you have a waiting period?

Our standard waiting period is 30 days. We typically waive the waiting period upon the results of a successful remote diagnostic inspection.

What are remote diagnostics?

Remote diagnostics allows technicians and service providers to remotely review your EV's data and diagnose potential concerns, service issues, or operational faults without needing to see the vehicle in person.

How do you keep my information private?

We highly value and respect your privacy (see our Privacy Policy). We will never sell your information, or share it with anyone except to provide our services and promote our business.

Claims
How do I file a claim and assure approval?

Filing a claim with us takes three steps:
1. Diagnosis: In the event of a breakdown, take your vehicle to an Authorized Repair Facility and get a diagnostic inspection. Send the diagnostic inspection and repair estimate to us at claims@getamber.com.
2. Repair Approval: In most cases, we get back to you within 24 hours with a decision on what's covered and approval to proceed with the repair.
3. Reimbursement: Once the repair is completed, email us the final invoice and we'll reimburse either the repair facility or you directly.

How will reimbursements for claims work?

For approved claims, we pay for the approved amount, less your deductible. By default, we will attempt to pay the repair service provider so that we can minimize your out-of-pocket expenses but if we are not able to do so, we will reimburse you directly.

How long does it take to process a claim?

We understand time is of the essence when your EV requires mechanical attention. In most cases you’ll receive a decision within 24 hours after you submit your claim.

Does Electrified Care reimburse me for tows?

In the event of an Electrified Care-covered breakdown, we reimburse you for the costs associated with towing your EV to the nearest Electrified Garage or Tesla Service Center. The amount we reimburse depends on the plan you have selected.

Let us know if you need help in finding an a tow provider that support EVs, otherwise you are free to contact the tow company of your choosing. Be sure to save all receipts associated with the tow and share them with us during your claims process.

Does Electrified Care reimburse me for rentals or alternative transportation (e.g. Uber or Lyft)?

In the event of an Electrified Care-covered breakdown, we will reimburse you for the costs associated with a rental vehicle, rideshare, or public transportation while your car is in the shop.

Please be sure to save all receipts and share them with us during the claims process for reimbursement.

Can you recommend EV-friendly towing companies?

As EV owners, we understand that EVs require specific handling and tow equipment. You can find a list of towing providers with prior EV towing here.
